Our client is a Fortune 500 provider of multimodal transportation services and third-party logistics. The company offers freight transportation, transportation management, brokerage, and warehousing. They have strong network and offices in Asia, Europe, North & South America region.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Air Freight Manager will be responsible for the overall product P&L, sustainable profitable growth, and development of Air Freight Product in the country and directly manages airline procurement and performance, capacity fulfilment, pricing, customer relationships and operation excellence. Manage local air freight team and work closely with local/regional stakeholders and overseas network.
The Role:
- Lead the air product development, team performance and talent development.
- Communicate with regional product/local stakeholders on latest local air market developments, trends, and opportunities.
- Develop and implement air freight solutions to meet competitive pricing and customer needs.
- Oversees Air Freight capacity procurement, rate negotiations, warehousing services, and contractual agreements, maintain strong vendor relationships and balanced performance management.
- Drive procurement cost/yield improvements and consolidation optimization.
- Maintain good relationship and provide quality service with new and existing customers.
- Support RFQs, pricing responses and market competitive sell rates maintenance, ensure customer/trade lane/market share volume and profitability growth.
- Deliver and implement operational work procedures and operating cost/productivity management.
- Implement product/operational compliance policies and drive ongoing improvement projects in daily operations.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- At least 10-15 years of professional leadership experience in the freight forwarding industry.
- Good knowledge of air freight products and logistics/supply chain industry.
- Air freight products, operations, financial and team management experience.
- Successful business partnership with customers and airlines/brokers/GSAs relationship.
- Good knowledge of RFQs, pricing and contractual management.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and quality customer service skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in local language and English – both verbal and written.
